OUR FIRST DAY OF VISITING!

As I was released to drive by my doctor on Monday, I made arrangements with Aunt Melissa to come and visit on Wednesday! Joshua was absolutely spoiled by Aunt Mel telling him how perfect he is and even Sister Gayle showered him with compliments! And to make the visit even better, Sister Gran-Gran stopped by for a visit too, although Owen was quite the jealous boy that his "Tic-Tac" (can you even guess why he calls her that?) was holding the baby.
I also got a couple of great shots of Noah who has just grown so much that he is crawling all around now! :(
Joshua was wearing a very cute barnyard outfit that Melissa passed on to us. I had to get pictures for his Aunt Mimmy and cousin Brooke because of Brooke's love of horses. Check out the footies below. He really is quite adorable. We took Joshua in for his 2-3 week checkup. Oh my how he has already grown! At the first doctor visit (Joshua was 4 days old) they measured him to be 19 and 3/4 inches and weighed 6lbs 13oz. Today (Joshua is 2.5 weeks old) he measured 20 and 3/4 inches and weighed a whoppin 8lbs 10oz. He grew an inch and gained almost 2lbs! Oh he is such a piggy! :)
The doctor gave us some homework to work on before his 2 month checkup:
1. Clip his fingernails (I am scared to death of clipping his fingers by mistake)
2. Have daddy feed him a bottle at least once (maybe twice a day) to get him used to a bottle
3. Put him in his cradle awake until he falls asleep (AHHHHH!!!!)
Being the overachievers that we are, we immediately started working on these things. And after a painfully long hour, Joshua finally fell asleep in his cradle. The pictures below is what he looked like when he FINALLY fell asleep. Notice I didn't include my frazzled picture of what I looked like after he finally fell asleep! :) I am not sure I can handle another hour long cry-fest, but at least it finally worked! Maybe tomorrow it will be less cry time and more sleepy time!

Awww...he looks perfectly angelic when he's asleep! I'm sure he's like that all the time when he's not screaming for an hour. :-)

Mimmy might have to grant Uncle Phil his wish and try for a boy just so I can get those horsie footie pj's. JUST KIDDING!

Good luck with the cryfest! I am so glad we are past that! That phase makes Mimmy decide to DECLINE Uncle Phil's wish to try for a boy!

I'm not sure which is funnier his little outfits or Mimmy's comments.

Naturally this Blog reminds me of a song..... How un-like me. There use to be this Buck Owens country music song that went like this.
" Oh it's crying time again, Your going to leave me." "I can tell by that far away look in your eyes." " I can tell by the way you hold me and call me darling."
" That it wont be long before it's crying time." Do you Get the connection Kelly, Buck Owens and Joshua in his Buck-a-Roo Horsey outfit. Cheesey huh? What else did you expect from dear old dad. Any How, he is so darn cute, I just can't help it.
WHAT TO MY SUPRISE!!! DID I JUST GET A NEWS FLASH????DID MY EARS DECIEVE ME. IS THAT MY MIMMY? Not only Uncle Phils wish but a Poppa's wish. I don't intend to be greedy here but the Lord did say, .......Happy is the MMMMaaannnn... never mind. Hang in there Kelly, and Don't forget to sing the Buck Owens song to Joshua when you put him down for nap time.

Love
Poppa.
