Those of you who have been to my house know that I live in a well-established, fairly populated subdivision! Granted, the name of the subdivision is Imperialakes (so yes, there are a few...ponds...not really lakes, per say!-) so why in the world would there be a baby Gator on my driveway you ask? Well, it's quite simple... It's Gator mating season! So they are on the move. From pond to pond, lake to lake. My house, just happens to be a shortcut!
We have lived here about two years, now and have now seen two aligators walking down the street, or in todays case, through my yard and driveway. The first gator we saw was about a year ago and it was probably a 6 or 7 foot gator. Today, I got to witness the trapping of a baby gator (no more than 36"). So here are a few pics of the exciting adventure of gator trapping!

My father-in-law asked the trapper to read the gator his rights! :)The trapper had these two big guys in his truck (not from our neighborhood)
What was so funny, is the baby gator had to ride up front with the trapper because he would have slipped right out the cage becuase of the big gaps at the bottom!

Gary, you're right, your gator blog way beats my gator blog! I would hate to find one of those guys in my yard! :)
As for calling you, I don't think Charlie would've let you off of work to come get my baby gator... maybe if it was bigger and could produce more gator meat! HA HA

DD8 spotted the title of this entry and said, "She lives in a swamp?? What does that mean?" So I showed her and DS6 the whole thing. They enjoyed it (of course, they don't remember "Book 'em, Danno", but I do -- LOL).
