We picked our first two tomatoes off our tomato plant the other day. It was so neat to watch how quickly they turned red after being green for so long. It seems like almost overnight that they ripened.
Since Jim is actually not a fan of raw tomatoes. I decided to cut the tomatoes to take over to my in laws for a snack before dinner tonight! (We're having spaghetti and meatballs, so why not have an appetizer of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese). I of course sampled before arranging the plate and I must say, it was/is one of the sweetest tomatoes I have EVER had!
We have a lot more tomatoes growing and hope to be able to make a nice tomato sauce with them. But for now, I am quite impressed with how well they turned out!
