Facing the Giants

Jim and I watched a movie last night called "Facing the Giants" From the creators of the movie "Fireproof" (which I still have not had opportunity to see). Can I just say, I LOVED this movie! I had to choke back tears and lumps in my throat during a good portion of it. There are some "worlds'" religious views in the movie, but I'd rather have that than smut, filth and cursing! One thing I said to Jim at breakfast this morning is that I felt like we could serve the Lord so much better than we are. The faith that was showed in the movie was moving! Here is a synopsis I took from the website:

In his six years of coaching, Grant Taylor has never had a winning season. Even the hope of a new season is squelched when the best player on his Shiloh Eagles decides to transfer schools. After losing their first three games of the season, the coach discovers a group of fathers are plotting to have him fired. Combined with pressures at home, Coach Taylor has lost hope in his battle against fear and failure.

However, an unexpected challenge helps him find a purpose bigger than just victories. Daring to trust God to do the impossible, Coach Taylor and the Eagles discover how faith plays out on the field and off.

With God, all things are possible

One preacher said recently, "Are you a big godder, or a little godder?" Do you believe God can do big things? I have seen it personally, and I believe he can!

Hmm...I haven't seen either of those movies. Praying for your mission to be a "big godder".

Also, is it weird that my word verification is "bewind" which reminds me of the "be kind, rewind" signs at the Blockbuster stores for when you brought the VHS movies back?? Yeah, I'm old. :-)

I haven't seen this one yet, either. :-( It's on my list, though! Love the picture of Joshua - so cute!
