A Punishment to Fit the Crime

Meet "On-pup" and "Off-pup"-  these two guys have been with Joshua since before he was born.  "On-pup" (affectionately named because he is the one Joshua always carries around/sleeps with, etc.) has never been used as a bargaining chip before (or in this case: a disciplining tool).  However, after months of Joshua getting out of his bed at naptime/bedtime to "play" instead of sleep, I decided to threaten to take away this precious commodity.

Yesterday, I took it away at naptime and promptly gave it back after Joshua finally went to sleep (probably cried himself to sleep)- today, before naptime, I reminded him that if he got out of bed, I would take puppy away for a whole week.

Unfortunately, the threat was not enough, so On and Off are now doing time!  Technically I should put Joshua in jail, but apparently that's FROWNED UP IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT...

Stay tuned for updates whether they are released for good behavior (or if mom/dad cannot handle the uncontrollable sobbing at bedtime tonight)...

Yikes! Be strong, I am betting this is worse than taking a pacifier away!

P.S. Poor On and Off, they need a good lawyer -- oh wait, they have one, his name is Joshie ;)

I have found in my years as a parent, that sometime the punishment is worse for the parents than it is for the child!
